지난 10월 15일 성황리에 끝난 북한산페스티벌에 왕비의 옷을 입은 이색참가자가 많은 관객들의 눈을 끌었다. 바로 은평SLP영어학당 (원장 김미행) 원어민 교사 Liane Lefebvre과 Madelyne Lawrence가 그들이 한복모델로 참여했던 감상을 구민들에게 전한다. -편집자주-
Bukhansan Cultural Festival
This October, I had the chance to participate in the Bukhansan Cultural Festival. I was a model in Grace’s Hanbok fashion show. Grace designs and sews beautiful bright hanboks. I had the chance to wear a blue, red and pink hanbok. I looked like a queen. I had a lot of fun getting my hair and makeup done the traditional way by professionals. My favorite part was walking down the runway, to the beat of traditional music, showing off Grace’s many talents. As a Canadian, it was really nice to be able to experience traditional Korean culture for a day! It is always so special to learn about other countries.
올 10월, 저는 북한산 문화 축제에 참가 할 기회가 있었습니다. 그레이스 강( 강종순 원장님)의 한복패션쇼에서의 모델로 참가하였습니다. 그레이스원장님의 한복은 아름답고 밝게 디자인 되고 만들어졌습니다.
저는 청색, 붉은색 그리고 분홍색 한복을 입었으며 왕비 같았습니다. 전문가들에 의해 전통적인 방법으로 화장과 머리 손질이 될 때 정말 재미있었습니다.
제일 좋았던 것은 전통음악의 리듬에 맞추어 무대위를 걸으면서 (한복 지으시는 )그레이스 원장님의 많은 재능을 (한복을 통해) 보여주는 것이었습니다.
캐나다 사람으로서 한국 전통문화를 경험 해 볼 수 있는 정말 좋은 날이었습니다. 다른 나라들에 대해 안다는 것은 언제나 특별한 일입니다.

I had the pleasure of getting to participate in Grace’s Hanbok fashion show. I found the designs to be a beautiful mix of modern and traditional with vibrant colors and mezmorizing patterns. All of the models were very professional and friendly and clearly enjoyed wearing the Hanboks. Grace was very gracious and was always present during the entire process to make sure everyone had what they needed and that her pieces were shown properly. I got to wear a red and gold Hanbok which would have been worn by royalty. The hair and make-up was done very well and completed the look nicely. This was an eye opening and exciting new experience for me!

저는 눈을 뗄 수 없을 정도로 훌륭한 패턴과 생생한 색상의 전통과 현대의 조화로운 아름다움을 담은 디자인을 볼 수 있었습니다.
모든 모델들은 전문적이었고 친절했고 한복을 입는 것을 즐겼습니다.
그레이스원장님은 매우 우아하고 전체 진행과정에서 모든 참가자들이 무엇이 필요한지 그리고 한복들이 제대로 보여지는지 체크했으며 항상 쾌활했습니다.
저는 궁중에서 입는 붉은 색과 금색의 한복을 입었습니다.
머리치장과 화장을 매우 잘 해 주었고, 아름답게 보이도록 잘 마무리 되었습니다.
이것은 저에게 (한국문화에 대해) 눈을 뜨게 해주고 감격스러운 새 경험이었습니다.
